Umineko no Naku Koro ni – Episode 5

14 October 2009 By Sam No Comment

The episode begins wher the last one ends. Them being in the sitting area with the corpses of Kumasawa, Nanjo and Genji in different locations in the room with Maria in the corner singing a creepy song. Shocked at all of this, Battler grabs Maria and pushes her around screaming at who the person was that murdered the three of them. Maria is still stating that it was Beatrice that did everything. After more questions, they turn around to find that Natsuhi is missing and that she has barricaded the four of them in the room with a candlestick.

Whilst they try to scramble out, Natsuhi is ordering ‘Beatrice’ to show herself. When the four of them escape the room, they find Natsuhi falling down with a gunshot wound. They start to panic and as the clock strikes midnight, a golden butterfly appears on the witches portrait, as more head towards the portrait. The time switches into the future where a sailor finds a message in a bottle from Maria, begging them that they must solve the mystery, in the same way that Keiichi did in the first arc of Higurashi. The final scenes state that even now, the mystery of Rokkenjima Island has STILL NOT BEEN SOLVED.

Tea Party

Please do take a break.
Did you find your stay on Rokkenjima pleasant?

The Golden Witch has gratified you with an invitation to a Tea Party.
It would truly be a pleasure if you took part….

Simply summarises the incidents between Maria, Battler, Kanon, Shannon, Jessica and George as they discuss the existance of the witch. Whilst everyone else believes that Beatrice exists, Battler denies the existance of any witchcraft being involved in their murders. Eventually this causes Beatrice to appear in front of him, which he still denies. With everyone else disappearing, Battler decides to take Beatrice on in a duel… each with their own reason for fighting…. Beatrice to have Battler accept her existance so she can enter “The Golden Land” and Battler to deny the existance of magic on the island so that he can find out who murdered his family and attempt to resurrect them. Since just like Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, Beatrice shall be shifting back time every few episodes.

????

Welcome to the Tea Party of those who are not human….

Rika Bernkastel is introduced as a new character. Whilst she tries to act neutral to the incident, she is also disgusted with the one sidedness of the game, which is similar to another game she took part in. She agrees secretly to help Battler as she wishes for Beatrice to lose the game altogether.
